IDEA Curriculum Fair 2017: Keynote Meal

Attendee Welcome Page ~ Anchorage ~ Fairbanks ~ Juneau ~ Soldotna

Keynote: "However Imperfectly: Lessons Learned from Three Decades of Teaching"

Andrew Pudewa has been teaching and homeschooling for over thirty years. In this talk, he shares with us many humorous experiences as well as painful lessons he has learned, including his "secrets of great teaching", the power of humor and story, keys to motivation, and the importance of repetition and memory in the development of the intellect. Along with his heroic wife, he learned and will share some keys to combatting stress, keeping the ends in mind, prioritizing on process over product, and planning, with a focus on the question "what are we really doing here?" You will be challenged or reassured (or both) but sure to leave with an expanded vision of your calling as a home educating parent.

Keynote delivered by: Andrew Pudewa, homeschooler, founder and director of Intitute for Excellence in Writing

Purchase Tickets Early!

Keynote Meal tickets are available from local IDEA offices for $15. All tickets must be purchased in advance so that we can provide accurate numbers to the caterers. The purchase price is the same for IDEA and non-IDEA attendees. The meals in every location cost far more than $15 each and are subsidized by IDEA so that more homeschoolers can be encouraged and inspired! Since there is limited seating in most locations, anyone taking a seat must purchase a ticket, including small children. Nursing babies are of course free.
