IDEA Curriculum Fair 2018: Keynote Meal

Attendee Welcome Page ~ Anchorage ~ Fairbanks ~ Juneau ~ Soldotna

Keynote: "Don't Look Down: Homeschooling on the High Wire"

The homeschooling life can be a circus—chaotic at times, but fun and rewarding in the long run. A homeschooling parent is like the tightrope walker. Getting successfully to the other side is all about focus and balance. Successful homeschooling requires finding balance between competing demands and expectations. We don't want to be too protective or too lackadaisical, too rigorous or too fun-and-games. We want our homeschooling plan to be practical without sacrificing creativity. We want to know when our students need discipline and when they need simple compassion. Walking the high wire of homeschooling can be a challenge, but it's also a thrilling adventure. Brian will share tips to help you focus on the joy of the journey.

Keynote delivered by: Brian Wasko, homeschooler, founder and president of WriteAtHome

Purchase Tickets Early!

Keynote Meal tickets are available from local IDEA offices for $15. All tickets must be purchased in advance so that we can provide accurate numbers to the caterers. The purchase price is the same for IDEA and non-IDEA attendees. The meals in every location cost far more than $15 each and are subsidized by IDEA so that more homeschoolers can be encouraged and inspired! Since there is limited seating in most locations, anyone taking a seat must purchase a ticket, including small children. Nursing babies are of course free.
